Still Missing you...

Hey man, almost 5 months have passed now...

Just want you to know that you are not forgotten and we are still missing you...

Went to visit your parents with Alan last week. Don't worry k, they are doing okay. The guys and me will be dropping by your house to check on them whenever we have the time. You don't worry k.

Anyway we give our numbers to your mum also. So if there is anything they will call us.
Hey man, even when I'm writing this now, my eyes are not dry. I really hope that you can read this. At least I can take comfort in knowing that you are still among us. If you are reading this now, give me a sign k, a dream or something.

The guys are fine, we are all busy, mostly with work and girlfriends. But we still meet up occasionally. The last time I played Mahjong with them at Alan's place and they told me of your legendary mahjong skills. Ha.

Alan and me are still missing you badly. The rest of the guys are too.

I'm sorry man, we didn't get a chance to complete the game design for Zoo-a-mania. I just cannot do it on my own... I have not been doing programming since that day you left us. Game programming is just not the same without you...

Hey, you still owe me that program structure remember? Ha. Never mind, you hold on to it first and pass it to me the next time we meet again.

Well man, I hope you are fine where you are at. And I hope you are attached already! You deserve it man, you are such a nice guy...

Samwise the Brave

I was browsing through a book on the Lord of The Rings when I suddenly remembered how Gys got his "English" Name.

Like me, Gys was a huge Lord of the Rings fan and one day he told me that he had decided to call himself Sam, after the Hobbit in the Lord of the Ring, "Samwise Gamgee". For those who had no clue, Samwise Gamgee was the hobbit who accompanied Frodo all the way to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring.

I asked Gys, "Why do you want to choose Sam? Why not Frodo?" His answer was that Samwise the Hobbit was actually the real hero in the story and not Frodo. It was in fact Sam's selfless attitude and his dedication to Frodo that they managed to reach Mt Doom in the first place.

Throughout the journey to Mt Doom, even when doubted by Frodo (who was being influenced by the ring) Samwise kept to his mission, that was to protect his friend. Towards the end, when Frodo had no strength left, it was Samwise who struggled to carry him.

The quest to destroy the Ring only succeeds because of Sam, who repeatedly saves Frodo from disaster.

Samwise Gamgee like Gys was really the real hero, quietly going about doing their jobs, not claiming fame and glory but solely dedicated to their true purpose...

You will be missed Sam...

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing...

Added another of Gys's favorite song, "I Don't Want to miss a thing", theme song of the movie Armageddon. He always like to sing this song during our ktv session, especially with Kok. There is one part of the song towards the ending where gys will actually scream (a poor imitation of Aerosmith of course! Ha. )

KTV sessions with Gys are always fun and crazy, he'll go all out to let his hair down, de-stress and just sing crap and talk crap of course. Ha. I think he was the one who introduced me to sing KTV. Before that I always thought KTV lounge as smoky and "complicated". Ha, think I watch too much TV liao.

Well, Gys actually introduced a lot of new things and taught me a lot of stuffs too. He was the one who convinced me that I was all grown up and time to find a girlfriend back in the poly days. Ha... That guy... Really miss his crap...

Another song we like to sing together is Venus by Sun Yan Zi. Will upload that next time...

If you can communicate with us, I really want to know how you are man. I know you have been appearing in Alan's dreams, but never in mine. Sometimes, when I think of you, I still can't believe why is it you that is being taken away from this world...

Life may never be the same for us, but we promise to move on and be happy in life once again. The memories you left in us will never be replaced and forgotten, and i'm really really glad to have known you as my friend, even though i'm never a good friend at all. I hope you can take some of the happy memories you shared with each and every one of us and be happy, no matter where you are.

In the middle of the night...

On a night when i was doing my sch work, i went to surf friendster and saw our gang's pictures...Slowly, all our memories came flowing back. It's been some time since you left us. I really wondered how are you now and hope that you are in a better place...

Life goes on, and guess what, I have found my partner recently. Life has a new meaning now and I promise to treasure my loved ones and friends more than ever. I won't blame you for not apprearing in my dreams. Maybe you think i'm not a good buddy enough for you, but sometimes. i still think of you. You are sometimes irritating, crappy, and full of shit, but that's what you are, and we love you for who you are...

I won't miss you as much as kai or alan, but you know, you are definitely one of the best buddies i have ever known. No one makes me feel more important on the soccer court when we play together. No one makes me a better player with you around as my teammate. So many memories we had, and we can only keep them in our hearts forever...U know what, thinking of you makes me a sissy, cause i always cry when i think of you, like now...

Lover's Concerto

Lover's Concerto is one of gys and my favourite songs. The past few weeks before his departure, while working on a project at his home we always blast our favourite songs on the pc while doing discussion and programming.

I still remember it was on Monday, two days before the fateful night that I met him at his home in the morning to continue our discussion on our project. I was playing this song again when he told me, "Quick, enter the name of the song into my playlist before I forget again." (Previously, we didn't know the title of this song.) And so I helped him to update the song title...

It's a very nice song...

Still missing you...

It's late at night and I'm munching on mamee snacks, just like how you used to....

I'm still missing you man... hai...

Sometimes when I'm alone travelling on the bus, taking a stroll or awake in the middle of the night, I will think of you.

Sometimes I wonder what was on your mind that very instant... I know you wouldn't go down without a fight... I know you; you are a fighter.

There's so much I want to talk to you about; the stuffs on dark energy, anti-matter, wormholes, time travel which I've learnt during lectures, all those stuffs which we so eagerly discussed. And also the latest season of Lost. It's nice man, I'm sure you will be stunned by the twists in the plots so far... hai...

I really hope there's really life after death, that you are still amongst us, that you still exist. At least I take comfort into knowing I will meet you again eventually and you are watching over us.

And hey, I guess you know by now, our dear vice president is attached. I wonder whether you have anything to do with it? ;p

Nowadays, I try to keep myself busy... I'm slowly moving on. I try not to think of you so much... sorry man because thinking of you really makes me very very sad... but hey I promise I will not forget you k.
